'Short Video in Memory of M.A.K. Halliday’s 100th Birth Anniversary': April 13, 2025 marks the 100th birth anniversary of M.A.K. Halliday. To honour his remarkable contributions to linguistics, the Halliday Library at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), China—where Halliday earned his MA in Chinese linguistics in 1949 under WANG Li who received his doctorate at the University of Paris in 1931—invited distinguished scholars in Systemic Functional Linguistics to participate in a commemorative project, inviting them to record a video on the theme “M.A.K. Halliday and My Research”.
